My Free choice blog today will be about the book I Got This! By Shelah Davis (my awesome mom) I read the first chapter and will be answering a few questions about it. The Main Idea of this book is Health. This chapter is about the choices in your fitness and health. There are three questions asked. Does it make sense? Is it true? And does it matter? Three question to ask yourself about what you will be doing to help your health. My personal reaction to reading this is that I didn't realize some of the things my mom knew. I didn't know all these people she has worked with and all the stuff she has done. She is a very big role model and I'm excited to keep reading and see what else there is that I don't know. I believe her intent was to have you think about what you do before you do it. Don't just jump into something now know what the effects are and how it will work with your body. You should always research it and make sure it’s not fake or bad for you. I see Order of Importance in this chapter. She is showing the readers important ideas to think about before starting their journey of health. I Recommend everyone reading this book because she is very straight forward with things. She is not gonna baby coat anything.

I read a few articles from Yoga journal and what I learned from it is that yoga is very good for you. It’s not a girl only thing. It’s very healthy for you and helps you with many things. It can help you with your health, relieve stress, and very good stretches to do. Something I love about yoga is it doesn't matter what shape, size, age, or gender you are. You can also do yoga just about anywhere you are. My mom teaches an online yoga class so you can do yoga from your desk chair at work. One of the articles was about a few scientist doing yoga in the South Pole so they are still exercising while working and get to connect with each other. Another one was this mom and daughter combining yoga and writing in journals to help the younger girls feel comfortable in their own skins and feel better about themselves. My personal reaction to reading all this wasn't very exciting because I hear this kind of stuff all the time, but on the other hand it was really cool to read the different ways people yoga. My mom is a yoga instructor as well as a nutritionist. If I was to create notes to these articles I would use a Double Entry Journal. Because then I can put what I’m reading in one column and then my thoughts in the second column. To anyone reading this blog post, I highly recommend trying out yoga.
